Grand Rounds | The Conversations Families Never Forget

When

Tuesday, July 7, 2026 8:00 AM - 9:00 AM

Description

Presented by:
Tasha Faruqui, DO
Pediatrician – Author
Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center

Planners expect learners to:
1. Use longitudinal, family-centered communication strategies by conducting multiple goal-directed conversations over time rather than relying on a single end-of-life discussion.
2. Identify family values, faith perspectives, communication preferences, and desired involvement of patients and siblings to individualize pediatric palliative and end-of-life conversations.
3. Demonstrate proactive communication techniques that anticipate family needs, clarify short-term and future goals, and guide interdisciplinary care planning across medical, home, and school settings.
