Planners expect learners to:
1. Recognize relationships between the gut microbiome and inflammatory diseases, particularly allergic diseases.
2. Describe why commercially available probiotic products have distinct effects in different individuals.
3. Identify which commercially available probiotic products have undergone clinical trials and shown efficacy for specific conditions.
4. Describe newer live microbial therapeutics, administered to neonates, which have shown the capacity for disease prevention.
