Planners expect learners to:
- Describe the challenges in preventing HIV infection in children.
- Describe some of the arguments for or against breastfeeding infants of people with HIV.
- List the appropriate tests used to diagnose HIV infection in infants born to parents living with HIV.
- Identify reasons why allowing breastfeeding, when appropriate, removes implicit biases about the health status of women living with HIV infection.
