The UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland (BCH Oakland) Pediatric Residency Program includes 90 categorical residents, two Child Neurology residents and four chief residents from medical schools throughout the United States.

Medical Student Program
Each year, BCH Oakland provides training in pediatrics for over 140 medical students from medical schools throughout the United States. We also serve as a core pediatric training site for 3rd year medical students from the UCSF School of Medicine.

UCSF Subspecialty Fellowships
UCSF offers pediatric subspecialty training in multiple ACGME-accredited programs and a variety of non-ACGME programs for those who desire further specialized clinical training or research pathways. Many of the programs offer training opportunities in Oakland and San Francisco including but not limited to:

Over 1000 visiting residents and fellows from nearby programs including UCSF rotate through BCH-Oakland each year in Pediatrics, Anesthesia, Dentistry, Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, Surgery, Orthopedics and more.
Psychology Training Programs (Internships and Fellowships)
BCH Oakland offers psychology training in five specialized mental health programs, serving children with a wide range of psychiatric, medical and developmental disorders.

Sports Physical Therapy Residency
BCH Oakland Sports Medicine offers a post-professional sports physical therapy residency program to prepare therapists to provide advanced physical therapy to athletes in a clinical setting and on the field.
