Salary and Benefits
UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland Residents are employed by UCSF.
Residents are represented by the CIRSEIU union. The current CIRSEIU union contract was extended until June 2026. A new contract became effective in July 2026, with final details currently being finalized.
Salary:
- PGY-1 $ 96,953
- PGY-2 $ 99,571
- PGY-3 $ 102,778
Relocation Allowance:
Incoming PGY1 residents are eligible for a $1,500 relocation stipend.
Housing:
Most residents choose to live near the Oakland hospital but residents are eligible for
UCSF Housing.
